Saab forever
Got a 91/ 900 Turbo Convertible and having my share of fun making improvements along the way. I recently installed a good used Japanese Saab engine in the thing and it runs very smooth. Just working on getting the idling correct. Idles to fast to long when cold but settles down to about 950 rpm's after warm up( 12 to 15 ) minutes after starting. After reading about solutions on the site, I may have to experiment with some suggestions to curbing this minor problem.
Happy to be here,
Andy F.

How about pictures of the car?
And Japanese engine? The C900 came with variations of the Saab H-Engine that was only produced in Sweden.Free SaabWorld Stickers

japanase engine
Hey Shazam,
The engine was cut out from a 91 900 and shipped to the US. You are mistaken about the engine being manufactured in Japan. It is standard practice over there to replace engines on cars after said engine has run up a predetermined number of miles.
That's it.

I'm sure he means a Saab engine that came off a JDM Saab car. Front clip gets cut off car and sent to the US to be harvested for parts. Common practice for Japanese cars, especially the desirable JDM ones (Type Rs, etc), first time I hear of that being done to a JDM European car.
