Hi, I have just come back from holiday and haven't fixed the issue yet. When can I find the shear ping and u-joint to check it out? I ordered the product on the website as above, but it hasn't come through yet.

Here are some photo that should help. Open up your trunk and remove the upholstery so that you can get at the top corners. These photos should help. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks, I had a look and everything seems fine. How do I remove those 3 black plastic pins at the top? I unscrewed the 2 screws, but don't get full access. What is the right way of removing the rest of the fabric? I tried pulling one of those black things out, but no luck. Do I pull harder? :-)

I appologise - I misread some of you original post and never noticed your picture. I too agree with a shear pin problem. The tonneau linkage should be check as well - but usually it's just the pin which breaks.

Okay, can you be more specific in what I need to look at? The image from Topless' post isn't the case for me. That part is not broken, from what I can see. I'll take a photo of it this morning, maybe you guys can see what's wrong.

I took some photos. Is it the shear pin under the rubber ring in photo A that might be the issue?

Yup, that is one of the shear pins underneath that rubber o-ring. I thought mine looked OK but my Saab tech told me it was busted. Those are good photos, maybe one of the more experienced guys on here can tell you if it is OK or not.

Hi Burnsside42, I see that you "like" Topless' post. Does that mean that you concur? I need to replace this shear pin??

    If it's broken then yes.
