Failed DI and now Low/No Boost Pressure with no CEL...turbo failure? - Help

    Hi everyone,

The 9-5 is in the shop right now and I'm trying to figure out what has gone wrong.

    Here's the breakdown

    1. Slight boost pressure loss (for a second) a few times over a couple weeks.
    2. Surging, CEL and stalling
    3. Code: P0327 - knock sensor 1 circuit (low input)
    4. Replace DIC and car starts up fine, low boost pressure...turbo gauge is not even making it into the white
    5. Attempt to reset the throttle body (limp mode)....does not need resetting
    6. Figure it might be a loose pipe (from the surging) - everything looks o.k
    7. Figure it might be the waste-gate - shop says it is opening up fine

Now they are going to remove the downpipe and check the turbo...The mechanic feels things are pointing to the turbo because he can't hear it boost and the fact that there are no CELS (codes) "it is likely mechanical"

Anyone have any experience like this? Any ideas? Recommendations?

If it is the turbo (TD04), where can I get a new one? Should I rebuild?

    HELP!!!...please

Got the call and the Turbo is fine...I guess I fried my cat driving with a failing DIC

At least that was all it was. So are you going to put on a aftermarket converter?

I was thinking about just cutting out the first one and wielding in some pipe. Perhaps a temp solution, until I make it down to the U.S and install the full JT Exhaust (probably won't happen)

    Thoughts? Any negatives?

Be sure the PCV check valve is not broken as well as the brake booster check valves. I see these go bad and cause rough driving and CEL all the time.

Do you have T5 or T7?

If T5 change the knock sensor on the cylinder block.
