    Tires after OEM

So ... the OEM Michelins lasted only 31K miles on our 9-4X Premium. We replaced them today with 235/65R-18 Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires. So far, so good.

What shoes do you have on your 9-4X?

    Three things:
    1. Tire Rack dot com customer reviews of the tire
    2. I know someone who has them on their 9-4X
    3. My OEM Michelins didn't wear well, so I wanted a different tire

    255 50 20 Parada Spec X Tires are FTW.

Make sure you wear them and rotate them accordingly (get alignment)

What is the average tire mileage life our members here experience.? I'll never know, because I have winter tires and don't keep track of the miles each runs.

Just asking, how many miles of tire wear would you consider enough on a 4500# curb weight and 5555# GVW ?

Its about the weight of the car, its about driving style and what pressure the tires are inflated too etc, basically look at the tires and the wear indicator on them (little horizontal bar in between the tread walls) that will tell you in what condition the tires are

Just close to what they were rated for. Saab dealer was surprised they wore so quickly too ... they asked if I had been towing anything.

I think they were 50,000-mile tires, so I got 60% of it. If they were 60,000-mile tires, then I got 50% of the treadlife.

Would you be satisfied with that?

    Exactly.

We were paying attention to the Michelins, but when they came up on the short side mileage-wise, we decided to swap over to something different.

I've got about 50K on mine, and didn't rotate as well as I should have -- don't have the tool to reset the sensor. I'm getting to the point of looking for some new tires, but I'm a little more satisfied with the OEMs.
