    2006 9-3 Aero sedan Brakes?

I called the (former) Saab dealership (new owners converted it to an Aston Martin dealer) where I bought my 2006 9-3 Aero in 2008 to get pricing for new front brake pads and rotors and was told they are no longer available for my car; there wasn't even an option for 9-3 Aeros equipped with 17" wheels. The parts rep said I'd have to go aftermarket. Has anyone heard this? If so, any suggestions on not so expensive aftermarket parts? This is totally freaking me out because if Saab really no longer makes brakes for my 9-3 what's gonna happen when I need brakes for my 2010 9-5?!?!? I'm a little confident that i'd find aftermarket parts for the 9-3 and since it's paid off I don't mind holding on to it but aftermarket parts for the 2010 9-5? I still have over four years to pay it off!

excellent! thank you my good man! I could kinda tell by the guy's tone at this dealership that he didn't really want to help me anyway. And of course they are on the list of official Saab Service Centers; perhaps I shall drop SPNA a note to let them know. Thank you again!!

    Avoid Perillo too.
The Exchange in Lake Bluff is very good and still have several Saab techs. Hubbard Woods Motors in Winnetka has a good Saab tech from a dealer with reasonable prices.

Thanks CarbonFlash... I finally caved in and took it to Saab Tech as that's where I've been taking it for the last few years since the warranty expired. I will have to make an appoitnment with The Exchange to get my 9-5's nav checked as it seems to have stopped working.

How did Saab Tech do? Ironically I brought my '06 SC Aero in for the brakes and they screwed them up. 2 trips for a simple job plus the employees are jerks. I'll never go back there.

They said there was nothing wrong with them and that the grinding I was hearing was the normal rust that accumulates from not using the car every day. I have been using the car more and I don't hear the noise. I think they made some type of adjustments to the brakes though as they do feel better. Now I can give my 9-5 a little break!
