SAAB 900S 1987 ? Doesn't have an OBD1 connection.
There is no facility for On Board Diagnosis storage.
But it does have a connector to activate the ECU fault codes. This is not it.
The 900 has many spare connectors all over the wiring circuit. This is probably one of them.Last edited by peva; 05 August 2013 at 17:59.

Isn't there something? I know it may be very old and proprietary, but LH 2.2 doesn't do flashcodes, like LH2.4 and 2.4.2 do. I wonder if there is a way to retrieve codes for LH2.2. I remember reading about it once, but I think it was a dealer-only tool or something like that.

The Saab ISAT scanner would plug in under the passenger seat of later c900's and 9000's for ABS and Engine faults. Also for fob programming. It's a square like connector.

But I thought LH2.2 didn't do flash codes with the CEL. Only LH 2.4.2. Artorius's '87 will have LH 2.2. I think there was a dealer-only diagnostic tool for it, but I don't remember what it consisted of.

I may have went about my question wrong thank you all for you responses they were informative.. And by the way I do get flash codes but that dealer scan tool is something I intend on looking into cut time in diagnosis would be sweet..Back to my original question I was looking into HUD (head up displays) and was wondering where could I connect it up to...
