    Saab Toppola

If you always wanted to have that European vacation of a lifetime why not do it on a Saab? This 1993 Saab 900 Turbo comes equipped with the Toppola camper that attaches to the top of the iconic Swedish car, and adds sleeping room for two, or even four if you fold the seats for extra sleeping room. The ad gives no detail on improvements to the car for carrying all that glass fiber so high up, but usually the Toppola package comes with stiffer springs and sometimes bigger brakes. Only € 7,985! While the car is a 1993 model and won't be elligible for importation into the US until 2018, the Toppola can be packed up and shipped stateside. Just made sure you put a new rear gate on the 900 before you sell it!

What madness is this with windows in the C-pillars? I thought that was a earlier C900 thing.

Anyway, a Toppola would be pretty awesome.

I never really understood why you want something heavy and tall on the back of a car beside it being a novelty. A small/light travel trailer or teardrop will be so much more practical. Probably a lot better for fuel mileage as well. I can only imagine what it will be like in heavy crosswinds.

Frank, I think it has something to do with finding a place to park a trailer and so forth.

Looks pretty cool to me. I have seen plenty of Westfalia's on surf trips, but *never* a Saab with a Toppola! This is the first I have ever seen or heard of such a thing, and it certainly looks like fun for road trips. However, I think if I had to make a choice, I would opt for a pull camper and hitch.

The rear windows are a five-door thing. Most five-door cars in the USA were imported between '79 and '82, hence the conception that the C-pillar window is an early car thing.
Ask me a question about your c900! I promise I either can answer it or know someone who can

Here is another Toppola for sale in Sweden. Yours for SEK 40,000 which is about USD 4643 or EUR 4262. Looks surprisingly roomy inside. And even better, the Saab 900 is included for that price!

    Geweldig!

Good luck with the drive there and back, it looks like it's a great vehicle for camping.
