Less expensive windscreen wipers for 2009 9-5 Griffin
Morning
Does anyone know if there is a brand/model of windshield wipers compatible with the expensive Valeo's on my 2009 9-5? Presently they're Valeo Model #VM457. I'm in the US... Lexington, Massachusetts.

No, they are hard to find. Orem works best. Valero often studded and r noisy. You are lucky if yours dont. Some of us have reto fitted the older arms so we can use easy to get blades

I've found Toyota and other companies use the same stupid wiper. If you don't like them get a set of arms from a 2007 or older 9-5. Then you can run normal j hook blades. Other wise rainx makes fair fitting ones.

I saw the blades on a 2008 9-5 yesterday and they sure look funky. I never saw that style for sale on a store. Seems like a retrofit of older style wiper arms is the way to go.

Tire Rack sold replacement blades for the 2008-09 9-5's for a while which fit correctly. I read a post recently that they no longer carry them but the blades still apear on their web site at ~$34 each so who knows.
The Saab blades really aren't that much more expensive than any other premuim blades sold in the auto parts stores. Cheap blades last only a year or less before chattering and streaking so there is no real economy in using them.
I have both a new pair of official blades, and a set of J-hook arms off an '06 9-5 in my parts cabinet for future replacements to my '08. I ordered my Saab blades from partsforsaabs located in the UK, and with shipping to the US they were about $55 USD for the pair. It appears their price is slightly higher now but they still might be the lower cost source. The one weird thing is that this company requires someone at home to sign the shipping receipt when parts are delivered. Two shipments received from them, each with short delivery times, and signatures necessary for each.Last edited by MI-Roger; 02 September 2013 at 13:05.
