How to make an old car feel new?
My 1999 feels old compared to a new car. How to make it feel new? Replace shocks and springs? I've never done that or had it done.

I think replacing anything made out of a flexible material (like rubber) for suspension and engine mounts is a good start. Springs usually don't wear out but shocks should be on the top of the list. I was surprised how easy it was to replace the rear shocks and springs on a 9-5 and immediately felt the difference in ride quality.

The car has a little over 160,000 miles. The shocks look original. Maybe that's a start? The alternative was to keep the car maybe 2-3 years and then get a 2006-2007 9-3SC.
In short, maybe keep the 1999 9-3 2-3 years or keep it another 10 years and forfeit the SC?

Not yet, nothing broken. There was a dent, like from a fist, but I got that fixed as paintless dent removal in Everett.
