replacement infotainment system
following problems with the Denso infotainment system in the 9-5ng i am now considering replacing this. Are there any views on suitable and compatible replacement units and in particular how this interacts with the HUD? is it a plug 'n' play or is there more involved in this, regards

Infotainment System
Hi All,
I'm starting to worry that the infotainment system is on its last legs. I've asked my garage a number of times about a replacement and am being told, repeatedly, that something new is on the way. Anyone heard anything?

Having the memory issues on the 9-4x, taking into Certified Saab Place next week. Will ask for firmware updates if any new ones available. Otherwise I have sent in an inquiry to United Radio.

Saab have just issued another firmware update (e800) which from early reports works to correct all these issues - it came on a stick and is really straightforward. It doesn't effect the saab logo. Your local saab dealer should easily be able to pick the stick up (I my case he posted it to me & I did it myself!) and it takes a bit 30-40 mins to complete but keep the engine running - hope it helps

Updated just the other day and it appears to be working. When I'm listening to my apple phone through the usb connector, the system will sometime flip to show the contents of my phone alphabetically. Weird, but the rest works just fine!

Called the local shop and waiting their call to pop-in for a coffee and get it done. But no problems with E40D.

Hi, i'm now running the E800 software, and it does seemed to have cured the issues, the most noticeable one on mine was always going back to the first track saved on the HDD.

Hey guys - really useful article here. Thanks! I've been really struggling with the old Saab dealers (mainly now all Vauxhall) - they just don't seem to have the Saab expertise anymore. So I'm gonna give these guys a go in Bristol - independent Saab specialists. http://www.simply-saab.com. They're based in Bristol, UK. Will let you know how I get on!
On a separate note - I've too been having problems with the clock in the infotainment not storing the time, and the Sat Nav defaulting to Belgium. But also a strange one - would be really interested to know if others have experienced this - when scrolling through my phone contacts on the infotainment display not all my contacts are displayed when categorized alphabetically. For example, if I select "E-I" and then scroll down the list only about 40% of all the contacts in my phone starting between E-I are displayed. To see all of my contacts E-I I have to scroll right down the list until it loops back to A and only then will all contacts be displayed once I finally get down to contacts starting with E.
Does anyone else have this problem, any tips much appreciated!! Cheers!
Tom

Problems with infotainment system
Hi Tom... The e800 upgrade will fix the location (Belgium default) and time issue, along with issues in the contacts and radio rds too. I got mine from Giles at Abbotts Racing Manningtree. Simply Saab are also very good, as are Perry & Prouse in Taunton, who incidentally also has the tech 4 diagnostic handset to carry out secondary key programming and other system software upgrades - I'm getting this done shortly and understand it improves the 9-5NG considerably. I'll let you know. Cheers Darren
