Ultra rare 9-5 Combi sold in NJ returned to Sweden?
Does anyone know the story of this car? There was a pic on the Facebook Saab Parts site. It was said to be the only new gen Sport Combi of it's kind in the US. Kind of sorry to see such a rare bird returned to Sweden. I got a call from my mechanic asking if I knew the story? Black and very, very nice indeed.

It was the combi they had @ the NJ SOC in 2011 next to the Independence Edition Vert. It's the closest to a legal one in the states - but it WAS sent back to Sweden to be sold off.
Pictures of it;
Of course the ONLY TTID Saab in the states - I think this went back to Sweden too;

Most were auctioned off. They were a sad lot, someone posted pics of them through the chain link fence at Port Newark. They just sat for months.

Thanks for that reply and the photos, would it be safe to say that there were no legal new generation Combi's at least here?
Were they legal in Sweden and Europe?Semper ubi sububi in caput tuum

The 2012 9-5 SC was picked up in Troy, MI at the end of April.
A Saab dealer in Kiel, Germany was able to get them registered and on the road in Germany. It shouldn't be too difficult to register them in other European countries. I have seen pictures of some with Swedish plates. This one is in Norway.

They were all auctioned to dealers and there were a few different auctions.

No dealers here in Florida received any? I was hoping that there were some new ones still out there.
one of those elusive Saab deals.

Sorry but there are None legally registered in Sweden.
I saw one that was auctioned of from Gothenburg to Norway and the buyer was hoping that he would be able to register it in Norway.

Recently finding out that there are Panhard 24 cars in the U.S. after I never heard of the model, there is hope. One can import a non-compliant car to the U.S. after 25 years. In Canada, it's 15 years.

Learning that Panhard 24 owners survive also made me think that parts for Saabs will be easy to get! The parts for Panhard 24s don't cross reference to anything in the U.S., according to John, the founder of the Panhard Club in the U.S. Wait, there's one think that does cross reference, gasoline. Chevron gas works in the car! So does brake fluid.
