    Thermostat or Temp Sensor ..??

    Hello All
Saab 9-5 Aero 05, I did changed the Thermostat and Temp sensor about 4 month ago, about aweek ago the gauge cluster drop and engine light come up..I used the code reader and it's say cause thermostat or temp circuit something wrong..I did one more time , replaced thermostat and temp sensor..It was fine about 3 days, after that the gauge cluster go up very low and very long (it's take about more than 1 hour drive to get half) and then engine light come up again..Any ideas for this issue? Thanks

Did you replace the rubber thing on the thermostat? It only fits on the outer edge of the thermostat.
It won't work proprely if you use it like a gasket.
Maybe follow the wires from the sensor to the plug and check for corrosion. (I've seen pictures of corroded pins on the big plug on the fire wall right behind the thermostat...)
    Good luck

Are you using an OEM or aftermarket thermostat? What's the error code?

Is the thermostat on the 9-5 directional when it comes to up and down? I know on the thermostat I put in on my 900, it had a small weep-hole like thing that had to be positioned at the top (or was it the bottom?). Not exactly sure why.

The OEM 9-5 thermostat has one of those vent holes as well and is supposed to be installed in the top position. I once bought an aftermarket thermostat at a local parts store which did not have that vent hole. I am not exactly sure what it does either but I decided to return the aftermarket thermostat and get an OEM.
