    Supplemental Warranty Question

I am about to purchase a new (to me) Premium FWD. It has less than 30k miles on it.
If I pull the trigger today, it will arrive in SoCal on Monday or Tuesday.

I was offered a 4/yr, 60k bumper to bumper by the dealer for $2800.

I understand All-State and others have simillar plans.

Do you feel it is worth it for me to get such a thing or should I just tuck 2 or three thousand in a bank account curbed for
    my 9-4x?

I have the ability to do so. I'd like to hear your opinions. Thanks!

    Dave

I have this plan and I am about to get my suspension replaced. I feel it is a good plan and worth it IF you are going to keep the car long term.

I bought a 3-yr/36K SAAB Secure warranty. It is administered by All-State. It's not "bumper-to-bumper" though ... is the dealer one really that? There are four tiers of SAAB Secure. For my 9-4X Premium XWD, I purchased the second level from the top for $1,395.

For your car, a Premium FWD with under 30K miles, the top level (very close to bumper-to-bumper) for 5 years/60K miles would be: $2,195.

I primarily bought it in case the air conditioning, the heated seats, or anything with the engine. All that is of course covered.

Something not covered is the wet passenger side wheel well issue that seems to plague all 9-4Xs ... but that was a cheap fix in the grand scheme of things.

What I do not like, and something that is different than the factory warranty that I had, but lost in the bankruptcy, is the $100 deductible I have to pay each time I take it in for warranty work. Does your plan come with a deductible?

All this said, in the 5 months that we've had the plan, we've made ZERO claims. It is a great ride, and very reliable. Congrats on your purchase.

Are you referring to the post by Brownie or did you mean to include a link?

    Thanks
