    Rear wiper not working

My 1999 9-3 now has it's first problem since I got it in April. The rear wiper doesn't work. It is quite limp so you can rotate down, like a wiper sweep, with your hands.

Maybe a nut is loose? The wiper is fastened to somewhere under the rear spoiler. Any hints on access? So far, I've only seen it when it's dark.

I bet connection between the motor and the wiper arm is stripped. I believe (from memory) you can flip up the little cap at the base of the wiper arm and it exposes a nut. Undo the nut and the wiper arm should be able to come off. You can see if the connection is stripped or not; check both the shaft coming from the motor and the teeth in the base of the wiper arm.

Mine stripped out on my 900. I fixed it by just replacing the whole motor because it was so cheap on eBay. To get access, you have to remove the interior panel on the hatch. It is pretty easy job.

I usually just needed to flip up the cap, apply pressure at the joint and tighten the nut.

Solution: Flip up the cap. The hinge is the same point when you lift the wiper off the glass (about 2" or 5 cm from the end). Use 10 mm wrench to tighten the wiper. Fixed for now!
