Hopefully someone here can help me out. We just made a 2,000-mile round trip over the holidays and about 500 miles from home on our way back, the check engine light came on. The vehicle ran just fine and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, so we continued on home without any issues. The check engine light was still on this morning and when we got into the vehicle after a short trip to town, the vehicle wouldn't start and gave us a "Service Theft Deterrent System" message. After numerous attempts, the vehicle started and we made it home just fine. Any suggestions? Can a local non-Saab dealer pull the error code or is that something only a Saab dealer can do? The vehicle is a 2011 9-4X Aero. Thanks in advance!
