No engine Warning light on Dashboard

Hello

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this problem.

The car is a 9-5, 2.0 litre petrol, year 2005 vector sport.

The problem is that there is no engine warning light coming on at all on the dashboard.

My understanding is that when the ignition is on, it should light up and go out when engine is started,(assuming there is nothing wrong).

The light does not come on at all.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would change the bulb. Check the others while your at it.
Don't just get one or two bulbs.... You will need more in the near future. Trust me.

Thank you for your reply. The car has been like this since i bought it and i wondered if it was anything more sinister?

I take it from your answer that changing the bulbs would involve taking the dashboard off?
