Hi E800 is the latest software update for the navigation operating system - some units had issues as you have read in earlier posts such as losing time / location / and favourite station info. So I would down-load and install. If you don't want to diy - ask your local specialist to do it - but at a cost.
Mapping update is a different matter and this is still Ampera 2011 - unless someone has better info.
There is mention of H Bloom having an updated HDD with different maps but have no more info on this as I have the OEM version.

I appreciate people's concern at having out of date maps, yes it is annoying. Equally however, just how annoying, all the major landmarks are still in the same places as are the vast majority of roads. Most of the time I don't find the out of date maps to be a problem and if I am going somewhere new I have my Garmin which is up to date. Of far more concern is the lack of traffic information, for which Google Maps is much more reliable anyway. Technology has moved on since the 9-5 system was specified, I find it useful enough not to be worried and using the Garmin has other advantages so, unless there is a free upgrade, I won't be bothering.

With built-in SatNav in the NG and the Volvo I only use the TomTom when in the OG or hire cars when abroad. While landmarks etc are still there the most useful aspect of the factory system is the traffic management / diversions. What is really annoying is when one-way traffic has been reversed! A small cost would be manageable but £200+ and out of date is not.

Sorry to disagree but back in August coming back to London from Stourhead we used the Saab system, it was showing sever congestion on the M4 and we were working on avoiding it. Then I decided to use Google maps on my phone, my wife using the phone by the way, and that showed no traffic at all so we cancelled navigation on the in-built system and carried on. It isn't the first time I have had to ignore it either.
