US or global site?

This is a US based site

Where did you get that from? This is Saab World. The site is actually based/hosted in France and we have members from all over the world. It just happens that the US is the largest English-speaking country and where many of the members are from. Ever notice the default time is GMT and dates/times are in international format? Check out the Garage Map.

When it comes to units, the metric system should be the standard. So from now on, only Liters/100km, kW, Nm, kPa and Celsius are allowed. None of that silly MPG, bhp, lb/ft, psi and Fahrenheit..



But seriously... we have to deal with the different measurement units and if someone doesn't list a country or a state/province you recognize, it is best not to assume.

Frank, you are Dutch but live in Michigan USA and it's your site. I didn't notice a flow chart at the header. I didn't assume his location, I Googled it and found one in Nebraska and one in UK.

Just because I mention this is a global site and not solely a US-based site, you get all upset and want to leave? I am sorry if feelings were hurt..

The site belongs to the community, I am just the caretaker. And no, you can't leave. When you signed up, you gave up that right and we own you and your posts for eternity.

Sounds like the opposite of the objections raised over a year ago. Even SC now allows members to leave.

No way! I imagine they won't let you delete your posts though. What about banned members? Will they remove those as well or keep them hostage for ever as a public display of disobedience?

They had a few folks request to be deleted and now their names don't even show up in the community list. That's about as gone as you can get.
