What happened to the shortest, longest and other custom Saabs

When i am looking at pictures of old modified "project cars" i am always thinking of what ever happened to it! where did it go, is it still alive? Here are some answers, a few modified cars with an sad ending... All the blue Saab 99 was build by Christian Ivarsson in Sweden. The limo was at the time the longest Saab, and the short one was the shortest.

To sad to read about all the scrapped Saab specials.

However, I own and currently restore a custom Saab 99. It is a seven seater Saab 99 limousine made for the King of Sweden in 1976.
I hope to finish it within a year.

All the best to you Saabers out there!

Welcome Martin, that's quite a project you have on your hands. Good luck, it would be very interesting to hear more about the restoration.

    Thank you very much Frank!

Most of the body have now been restored and welded back to itīs original state.
The rot was very, very extensive. Please see Svenska Saabklubbens forum • Visa tråd - Saab 99 King Size (Will get back with pictures, meanwhile, you can find them there)

Whatīs left is the rear left quarter, the back end and the left front fender, but for those areas I have acquired complete panels.
Before these are replaced, the car must stand on itīs own wheels to minimize the risk for errors. Currently, the car is mounted in a special pivot I made out of two engine stands.

    All the best!
