2003 9-5 Areo A part I broke
While attempting to remove one of the shocks on my 9-5, my assistant placed a jack too close to an item that is not metal. While operating the jack we herd a snap, then continued with jacking and placed a jackstand under the frame.
Upon removing the jack to access the work space, what appeared to be a very heavy hunk of rubber fell to the floor. Upon inspecting the other side of the auto, we found a similar item, the item appears to be some sort of alignment piece to hold the body in line with the frame.
Description of the part: a heavy piece of steel covered with black rubber. Size is approx. 4 3/4" X 2 1/4" X 1 1/2". Shape: out side edges are bowed outward with an aluminum mounting bracket. Upon trying to remove the mounting bracket from the item, it became evident that the mounting bracket is not removable from the item.
Part number: 5063029
Question is how important is this piece and does it create a danger to operate vehicle without it? Does one know where such an item can be acquired.
Thank you so much for your help and input.

A quick search for 'Saab 5063029' shows it's a vibration damper. Quite a few places sell them and is about $50.
Here are just a few:

If that is what you need I have a new one I can sell you! I had it fall off our first 9-5 and I never go around to installing it before it was totaled. $35 Shipped!

Does anyone know what kind of damage will occur if the damper is not replaced. I was doing about 80 to 85 on the freeway yesterday. Not a quiver. Went around the connector from the I15 to I215 at about 60, no problem.
So if there will be any damage, I had better consider replacing it right away.
Thank you Jeffery.

I would take $25 shipped - I paid more than that for it. You COULD end up with strange vibrations and worse yet - even worse tire ware.
