Sport Tech Package?
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how to look at my 9-5's VIN and tell if my car came from the factory with the Sport Tech Package. My car has the carbon fiber dash, two - tone interior (tan/black), heated front and back seats, and Xenon lights. That makes me think it MIGHT have that package. Thanks as always for any info!

Packages for the 9-5 Aero for 2005 are:
The Sport Tech package
- carbon fibre dash
- two tone interior.
The Executive package
- rain sensing wipers
- rear heated seats
- auto dimming exterior mirrors
- xenon headlights
The VIN doesn't show information about any packages.

My Aero must have both of those packages then. It has all of those options.
Wow Frank! Is there anything you don't know about these cars? You never cease to amaze me.

I have the same packages on mine so that's how I knew. And with a little help of the 2005 9-5 brochure.

I agree. I wonder why Saab did that.

Not necessarily true: Reason is that Saab also offered built to spec vehicles ......
The only reason I could figure is that the Saab Dealer did not have access to many Saab configured that way. I tried for months and back in 05 I contacted a auto sales broker to purchase the Saab - Well Worth it -
For instance:
I own a 2005 Saab 9-5 Aero
I built it on the Website and purchase through a SAAB Sales Broker Stockholm for delivery to the US

specs:

- Grey exterior on Black interior (2 tone and ventilated seats were offered)
- Platinum Silver Dash bezel - (Carbon Fiber Dash was offered)
- Heated Everything (Mirrors & seats & rear)
- Vented Rear Brake (comes with most sport tech but still optional)
- No Bumper Washers (washer is option) alcohol and plastic ....not good , causes premature foggy plastic transparency |
So I chose this bumper cause its slicker looking-----
-Park sensors - (you can opt out)
-Navigation System - Option
-Decline offer for On-Star (pointless for me to have)
- Rain Sensors
- Exterior Auto Dimming
- Xenon lights - (Also bought the regular halogen lights for spares back in 06)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like Frank says - VINs dont tell the cars story on what was added to the shell

Now that's interesting. I didn't know you could do that.
