replacing front struts
I am replacing the front struts with konis. Everything comes off the car easy, piece of cake. I have spring compressors, all that is good.
Where in the heck do you get a tool that allows you to remove the 21mm nut on the top of the strut? Nobody makes a 21mm offset wrench anymore that I can find, without ordering it for $60
Bahco , 2MV21 1000V Insulated Metric Offset Box End Wrench 21 mm
Is there a source for the proper tool, or another way to get this thing apart?
There is this guy
Strut Nut Removal Socket Set (21mm and 22mm)
but I don't think that will work because you need to fit a torx bit in the middle, not an allen key

I see a regular wrench, but what I need has to be offset

OK, this is a long combination wrench, not a deep offset box end wrench. I have heard of people using a sparkplug socket with external flats at the end to be turned/held by an open end wrench, but a 13/16 sparkplug socket is only 20mm - not the 21mm you need.

I had to button everything back up with the old strut for now. I'll have to take it all off again once I figure out what to do. It's all pretty easy to get off otherwise, I'd be done if it weren't for this strut nut.

13/16 is 20.63 mm, so its possible 13/16 might work, and that size is actually sold.
It was also suggested, since I am replacing the strut to just grab on to the piston with a pair of vice grips and spin off the nut with a socket, since i'm replacing the strut it wont matter if the old one gets scratched up.

The rear struts proved to be just as frustrating. The top nut on them is much easier to get to, but it would not turn for anything. used tons of pb blaster, had my vice grips on the end with as much force as I could muster and i was only able to get the nut to do maybe a half turn total. I'm throwing in the towel, it will be taken to a shop for the shocks.
I did manage to get my new slotted rotors, brembo brake pads, new summer tires, and new wheels on.
A couple of notes if you are going to do brakes and rotors on these cars, make sure you have 5mm and 7mm allen wrench sockets, t30 hex socket, and 16, 18, and 21mm sockets. Breaker bar and torque wrench.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to order a few extra of these

Because I did trash one in the process. If you go to Napa looking for a set screw for a Saab, they're going to look at you funny.
