Getting a COC for France
Hi,
Does anyone have any recent experience iof trying to get a Certificate of Conformity to register a SAAB in France. I tried SAAB who have said they are no monger able to, and I tried the DREAL who are the relevant authority in France , who in the abscence of a manufacturers COC will do it on the basis of being a non type approved vehicle - in other words all testing from scratch at a basic cost of 2000 Euros for the tests alone..... Obviously this flies in the face of current EU legisilation, but hey ho! This is France. The vehicle in question is a year 2000 2.3 9-5 Estate, currently on English plates. Any ideas? Or has anyone got a French COC I can copy!

I got one COC last decembre. It was quite a challenge but I manage to get it. The "old" Saab team is definitely not the solution. You might pay them but they are really slow (4 month....). The solution is to order it from a French Orio dealer. They will order it through Beherman in Belgium.
