Odd GPS behavior

All of a sudden, every time we start the car, the car gives the warning screen that you have to press ok and then goes into guidance mode, but without a destination.
the time and miles to get to the target (bullseye diagram at the left) all show as dashes ---
and if you press DEST you can cancel guidance. but it never guides us to go anywhere.
this happened about a week ago.
any clues? i cannot find a setting that changed.

bread crumb or follow me mode is on... Wait.. its called "back tracks"

Hit the Config button.. Scroll/select Nav.. There should be an option for back tracks, and you can turn it off.
