BAIC news
I received an email from Matthias with these pictures of an electric Saab that was spotted in Beijing recently. The Saab 9-3 appears to be owned by Beijing Emergency Management. The message also showed there was a Saab 9-3 police car as well but it is not immediately clear if it also was an electric Saab.
Hallo Matthias,
Viele Grüße aus Mainz,
Christian

cough cough
There's a Star Trek episode where Captain Kirk gets sent to a parallel universe after a transporter malfunction. In the other universe, everyone is evil. Spock has a beard.
This looks like a Saab at first. Then look at the badges and the grill. It's a parallel universe. I like the original universe!

The original universe was Saab AB. BAIC and NEVS are both parallel universes and neither one is real. However, the original universe is gone so we're stuck with these 2 parallel universes.
There first was an electric Saab Saab. Then there was this electric BAIC Saab and soon there will be an electric NEVS Saab. They are all pretty much the same cars and just the badges and the companies are different. I just find it funny when people say this is not a real Saab when they are blinded by the badge on the hood.
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it's a duck.. If it looks like a Saab and drives like a Saab, it's a Saab!

Where are all the China made aftermarket parts at? I'm dying for some questionable aftermarket parts to start using already. Mom needs a NSS for her 2002 9-3 - OEM is the only option still. Come on China! DO what you do best - copy an existing part and make it a fraction the price.

Duck - very tasty - but not so sure of NEVS or BAIC being able to match a real SAAB , but quite a tasty alternative (vegetarian version perhaps? )

Saab fans are going crazy over the new NEVS 9-3 that rolled of the assembly line in China. But NEVS is not the only company that uses Saab technology for building cars.
This is the BAIC CC Turbo Sport. It looks like this is a model for Vietnam only. Details shows it has either the Saab 1.8T or 2.0T engine. Sure looks a lot more exciting than the NEVS EV.
