Windshield leakage inside the windshield itself.

I have a 2006 9-3 2.0T and the front windshield has streaks inside the windshield glass. A SAAB dealer told me that this happens when pressurized water at a car wash gets in between the layers of glass and plastic on the windshield. When the liquid dries it leaves streaks that cannot be cleaned. So far they aren't so bad as to obstruct vision, but they are annoying.

Has anyone seen or heard of this?

I had some streaks inside the windshield of my new 9-4X. As you mentioned, not bad and they don't obstruct vision but they were very annoying because I was always looking at them. Definitely something you won't expect on a new car and I assumed it was a manufacturing defect. These where in the lower middle part of the windscreen and not near the edges.

I can't imagine water from a car wash causing this but who knows.
