Orio continues to support Saab owners – signs global distribution deal with Nevs
15 April 2014
Orio, the former Saab Automobile Parts AB, has signed a global distribution deal with Nevs. The deal means that spare parts for Nevs's newly-produced Saab cars will also be available through Orio.
Orio announced today that the group has signed a global distribution deal with Nevs. Nevs, the specialist electric car manufacturers, revived the production of Saab cars at Trollhättan in 2013. The deal between the two partners ensures continuous supply of Saab parts and service to new Saab owners.
– "We are dedicated to supporting new and old Saab owners, and there is healthy demand for spare parts and service for Saab vehicles," says Lennart Ståhl, CEO of Orio AB. "We are delighted that Nevs is to manufacture new Saab cars, and this deal guarantees Saab owners, workshops and distributors all over the world access to high quality spare parts and service."
Service, repairs and guarantee work for Saabs manufactured by Nevs will be referred to the former Saab Service Centers.
Orio reopens classroom-based Saab technical training courses
23 April 2014
Orio, the former Saab Automobile Parts AB, continues with fully-booked courses for the Saab Academy in 2014. Orio is to reopen training activities at the Saab Academy in Trollhättan on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
The Saab Academy is Orio's training venue for Saab workshops and Orio employees. Courses started in 2004 in partnership with General Motors to ensure high quality global training for anyone working with Saab. After exclusively running online courses for the last two years, Orio is now restarting classroom-based courses in Trollhättan.
– "We know there is still demand for training from our Saab workshops. Saab owners prefer to use workshops with skilled personnel," says Michael Backman, Training Manager at Orio. "We are delighted that interest is sufficiently high to enable us to reopen our training facilities at Trollhättan."
The new classroom-based three-day courses are already fully-booked with mechanics from Sweden, Denmark and Norway, and more are planned during the year. Countries outside Scandinavia can also have localised classroom-based courses provided.
The courses consist of technical training on Saab's 9-3/9-5 model program from 2000 - 2011, and are aimed primarily at new Saab mechanics. Experienced Saab mechanics with specialised skills will also be able to take further training to act as mentors in Saab workshops.
In addition to mechanic training, the Saab Academy also offers a program of courses for spare parts consultants, service receptionists and workshop owners.
