Never owned one so definitely no expert but like Wulf my dream 9-5 is a late pre-Edna Aero wagon. I reckon I'll own one too when the Accord gives up the ghost.

Not really. Not for a linear. My friend bought an '04 Arc, with 220 hp and a TD04 turbo stock for $6000. His has more miles than that, but I still don't see a 185 HP base model being worth $7k. Definitely work $6000-$6300 though.

Unhappy Almost got me running but ..

At that price it would be a super deal but then I read the "hail damaged" part. Still for +$24k, you have to wonder. I guess with a new car they won't do a bondo and respray? It probably has all kinds of "micro-pings", all over the roof and other horizontal surfaces.

This time of year last summer I would have been on a flight to pick that car up. I am living with a few flaws now (not Saabs fault), that are going to cost $1,500.

Good deals on current Saabs for sale

I received some more info and pictures of one of their Saabs with hail damage. Paintless dent removal seems like a possibility but will you be able to get it 100% smooth again? Hood and trunk lid are easy to replace but side panels and roof are much more difficult to fix. But still.. $17K for a brand new Saab 9-3 is a pretty good deal. And even after you spend the money for paintless dent removal, it may not look 100% perfect but you won't see it when you're driving it. I imagine darker colors like Jet Black are the most difficult for removing dents like that.

All of our vehicles have numerous hail damage to the Hoods, roofs, and trunk (plus some have on the side panels also). From what we have been told, is that most can be popped out with paintless dent removal, but we are figured the estimated hail damage with replacing all the panels and skin.

With a 9-3 I would tend to lean in terms of getting a replacement hood and boot. The roof? A good shop tech could bondo that and respray. Perhaps a combo but again, this is not uncommon so it can be dealt with.

In my town we have a few MEGA STORES that are massive and they had a huge sale a few years back where they all got hit and hard. So, a few of our local shops probably got a ton of experience with hail.

By "combo", I meant component replacement (difficult for a new 9-5), but for a 9-3 junkyard and the dentless and bondo.
