Corroded Mirror Bases

Hi, just wanted to share my work with you all
My mirror bases were badly corroded ( as with many saabs)



So I set about cleaning them up a bit.
Removal was straight forward, and then I stripped everything off the mirror frame which left me with 2 very badly corroded frames



Now I can't take credit for the next bit as a local company did the work for me (my dad). The frames have been wire wheeled, bead blasted, etch primed, primed, sprayed and then lacquered. Here is the finished article. The colour is a metallic anthracite and by god it looks good, very happy with the result indeed

Looks great. Mine are just faded a little so might clean them up by painting them. Thanks for sharing.
