    Volvo injectors

I have not worked on a Saab 900 in 30 years. I now own a 1988 Saab 900 sis. I replaced the injectors with part number Bosch 0280155831 which is actually a Volvo injector, and it made the base idle come up one hundred RPM. The engine sounds so much better, and it has much better performance- it's like night and day. Saab runs a single pintel injector nozzle where the Volvo is a multi-spray tip. So does everyone already know this ??? Does anyone know how to adjust a mass airflow sensor? I looked around but there's too much bad info on the web??

Has your car got a cat and an O2 sensor. If so you don't adjust anything, let alone the AMM. The idle should be controlled too by the ECU to about 900 rpm.

An engine needs tuned properly to accept new injectors, they likely have different delays and flow rates. 1988 would mean it would be done the old way by flashing the chip in the ecu. I have no idea who would even have that kind of equipment anymore.

If you have an O2 sensor the fuel mixture and the idle are controlled automatically by the ECU. You should not try to alter the idle by adjustment of the throttle stop. Check out this link for starters which tells you how to check things. Saab - Technical help: Saab 900 Guide to curing Variable and high idling
