2003 9-5 Transmission Problem?
Hi there! Does anyone know what could be going on with my car? First off I have a 2003 9-5 arc. Auto trans. It seems that the transmission is delayed in engaging in reverse and all gears when I've let off the gas, then accelerated again. What happens is there is...
1. A delay in response
2. A grind and a clunk from the trans
3. It engages and is fine for a while.
When I say fine for a while, maybe 2-5 more miles until it does it again. Could this be a need for a new trans and what does that cost? Or is it just a auto trans fluid problem? Even though The fluid is full and seems ok. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Changing the ATF certainly is a good idea to start with. How many miles are on it? Any service history on the ATF?
Clunking could be worn/transmission mounts.

Thanks for the info! The cars problem just got ten times worse though. Started the car this morning and it's misfiring and there is no drive. I guess there's more than I thought.

Any warning lights on the dash? If so, get any error codes and go from there.
