You know you drive a Saab when...
You know you drive a Saab when...
-2 or more of your friends now own one as well.
-A big decision for you is what style of gel sticker you will get to replace your worn off badge.
-You leave SUV's behind in the snow.
-Your car has the best comfort:gas mileage ratio of all the cars in your family.
-You have at least one friend that thinks it's the ugliest thing in the world. And you really don't care.
-You have at least one friend that thinks it's the most beautiful thing in the world.
-"Brake light failure"
-Your dad is helping you do a tune up and he says "Well, I've never had to raise a car to change an air filter..."
That's all for now. Let's hear what you've got!I don't drive fast...I fly slow

People go 'wow' when you open the bonnet (hood) -- this may only apply to old 99/900s

- feel the torque steer and reminds you this is not a boring automotive appliance
- punch the gas pedal, feel the turbo push in your back and you start to laugh uncontrollably

Nope, NG900s too
- random people come up to you on gas stations to tell you have a plastic piece hanging off the bottom of your car (snow flaps)
- you let your Subaru driving friend take your car for a spin and it takes him five minutes to find the ignition
- you let your Subaru driving friend take your car for a spin and he comments on how sloppy your shifter feels
- you pop open the hood at a car show and WRX-driving teenage punks are impressed that your car has a front mounted intercooler
- you insist on NGK spark plugs
- you have to mail order most parts as neither NAPA, CarQuest, nor Shuck's carry the parts you need
- you know the meaning of DIC, SID, APC, BPC, SPG, TWICE and CPS
- you never drive more than 50 miles away from home without carrying a spare DIC in your trunk
- at least once you were asked if your headlight wipers are aftermarket
- you know that when someone refers to 95 they mean the old school wagon, not the year
- you think three spoke wheels look good
- when asked why you were speeding you tell the cop "because it's a SAAB and that what it does"
- you know where Trollhättan is
- you believe the coolest sounds in life are either a two-stroke engine at full throttle or the woosh you hear when the turbo boosts

Then why are they called snow flaps?
I have been told that, as well as that the flaps are there as rudimentary aerodynamic devices to keep snow from accumulating on the rear wheel wells.
I wonder, as the NG900 9-3 cars don't have the snow flaps, if their fuel filter and brake lines have been redesigned or get damaged more often, and whether the 9-3 gets snow accumulated into the wheel wells.
With my car being lowered I am always dragging my snow flaps on the ground, literally everywhere! They are barely an inch off the ground. Sometimes I think of removing them, but I think they add character to the car, and it's such a SAABy feature that I want to keep it.
