Bottle, coffee mug and drink holder - aftermarket
I had enough of my water bottle rolling around the passenger seat and the mediocre in-dash cup holder for holding my travel coffee mug. My car came with the Saab dash phone/accessory mount and I used that for an iPhone holder. However, that didn't work out to my liking so I came up with a new use for that dash mount.
I bought a "Shoreline Marine SL91340 Plastic Drink Holder Fold-Up Black" from eBay for about $7 including shipping and screwed that on the dash mount. Works perfect and is actually very sturdy. It can be adjusted to different sizes and it is up to the task to hold a full 24 oz water bottle while cornering at high speed. Definitely necessary when you drive a Saab 9-5 Aero auto in Sport mode. It should hold any coffee mug with or without a handle and any other drink container.
This drink holder has 6 holes for mounting. The way I have mounted mine, it is ok for the passenger but it will probably be more convenient when you move it more to the left. However, that may make it more difficult to access the cigarette lighter/charging socket. But I haven't tried that yet. This works fine for me and it can always be removed without leaving any holes or other damage to the dash.

Looks good. I know what you mean about drinks in passenger seat. I was going to look for something to hold your cup. I will look for one of these.

Here's what I got for my 9-5 when I got it a couple years. It sat in my garage for a year before I finally mounted it. I love it! Plus it's a genuine Saab Accessory.

Where and how do you have that mounted? That area below the dash is carpeted and I am not sure if you can just screw anything in there and if it will hold.

The phone holder can be had for MUCH less than the $73 on eEuroparts. Try $68 less. Only $5 (plus shipping)

along with this - a good combination:

Nice solution Frank!
Good luck finding the "dual cup holder & wastebin". I placed SEVERAL orders from various suppliers, only to have them ALL cancelled.
They stated that the part has been discontinued, and there won't be anymore.
That was over a month ago, so I'm surprised they haven't removed the website listing for the part - or AT LEAST mark it "Out Of Stock"
I was able to buy one from another forum member who bought one a few years ago, but never used it.
It mounts to the carpet, with a "mounting plate" that attaches to the carpet with 3 sheet metal screws, that are secured with speed nuts behind the carpet.
It IS secure, but you have to do a bit of dis-assembly to lift the carpet for the installation. Not a problem though.
I like it!
Though, as a wastebin, it's designed to detach easily for dumping.
As a cupholder, I worry it COULD detach when a full drink is in it - causing a mess.
It HAS detached unintentionally once, when a passenger bumped into it.
Luckily - no drink in it at the time.
A strategically placed screw added would make it more secure, but at the expense of making it non-detachable.
You can mount it pretty much anywhere along that surface, but if you put it forward enough that the passenger seat CAN'T hit it when fully forward, it makes for a bit of a stretch to reach from the driver's seat.

It has a mounting plate you screw with nuts on the back of the carpet. So you have to pull the carpet back. The plate has a lip and "industrial" Velcro (hard plastic nubs ) that the bin hangs on and attaches to. It will carry 2 32 oz drinks. It's plenty strong. I'm sorry I waited a year to mount it, because it really works well.

Added some pictures....
These show the attachment method,
(I enhanced the "industrial velcro" to show extra detail)
..and the position which WON'T interfere with the passenger seat.
(passenger seat fully forward)
It makes for a good passenger cupholder,
when the driver is using the stock in-dash holder,
but is also not too bad of a reach from the driver's seat.
Note that the "advert" picture shows it higher up and further back.
That would most definitely interfere with the seat travel.
I mounted mine lower, so a TALL cup would insert easily without
interfering with the outward slope of the dash/console above.
(still an easy enough reach for my long arms)
