Also clean the earth wire connection that are attached to the thermostat housing. There use to be corrosion there & then you can have missfires. This is quite usual.

ah ok yes I am thinking about checking and cleaning all I can get to ..for the moment, I do use this car daily now because of lending my honda to my stepdaughter for a bit and i gave my chevy to my son..thanks for any and all your help

I am still getting the CEL on some start ups and sometimes not . Now it never comes on while driving only on start up. As for the DIC do they just go or do they play around with you intermitent?
