    In-Dash USB charging port

    Hi all,

I'm attempting to replace the useless OnStar switch panel with a USB charging port.

This would integrate nicely with the ProClip cell phone mount I'm modifying to include integrated wireless (Qi) charging.
And would eliminate (shorten) a bunch of unsightly wiring of the existing USB cable running down to the cigarette lighter port.

Alternatively, I might consider "re-purposing" the 3 switches.
Coincidentally, my bluetooth audio adapter has 3 switches: "Prev. Track", "Next Track" & the main switch, used to answer calls and pair the device.
I'd consider doing surgery on this if I can integrate it with these switches, and the 9-5's MIC up near the rearview mirror.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing the connections to these switches? I searched my WIS CD (and the forums) but came up empty.

Also - removal/replacement instructions would be handy.
Can I simply push the switch out from behind if I remove the radio and its mounting cage, or is the process more complex?

(BTW: I've done the "Aux-Jack to telephone input" Radio Mod already)

    (This is for a 2003 9-5 Arc)

In the WIS do I see two wiring diagrams, called OnStar 4D provision and - 5D provision respectively, with corresponding List of components.

The WIS procedure for TCS and ESP switch removal is straight forward, and should work for the OnStar switch assembly as well:

    1. Pull out the switch using two screwdrivers (I assume you would use some kind of plastic "tools").
    2. Unplug the connector.

    You're right, 9-3 Aero!
The WIS DOES have the info. I was thrown off by the INCORRECT location drawing

Also good to know it can be pulled out from the front, without having to remoive anything else. (to push from behind)

    (Copying my update/post from saabcentral:...)
    -------------------------------------------------------

I found these two items in the WIS.

1.) A wiring diagram for the OnStar/Telephone (under "OnStar 4D provision)
    2.)"Connection, OnStar control panel (469h)"

So I figure "469h" is the 3-switch panel, right below the ESP switch.
It looks like the WIS location drawing is in error, as the highlighted item is the hazard flasher switch.
But the wiring diagram for the "Control Panel" makes sense.
5 wires: one for each of the 3 switches (T1-3), and a power (OG/WH switched and fused elsewhere), and Ground (BK/WH ?).
It'd be nice if these were labelled, but that would be asking too much.

And the instructions for removing/replacing the switch (TCS here in same location as OnStarSwitches)
