Is it a good idea?
Hello all -
I am a former Saab owner (9-3, 2004) and I am toying with the idea of buying a 2010 or 2011 9-3 or 9-5. Is this a good idea? I've seen some very clean and low mileage vehicles at a seemingly good price ($11K - $12K) but I would like to learn more about reliability and parts/service availability for these specific year and models before taking the plunge.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Love my 2010 9-3, Very easy to maintain, so far only basic service intervals and no problems. Fantastic car!

The 9-3 has been made in much larger numbers compared to the second gen 9-5. New and used parts should be easier to get than for the 9-5 in the future but it seems like 9-5 owners haven't experienced any parts problems yet. There are still many Saab service centres and specialists so service and repairs shouldnt be a problem either.
As the prices are low, you definitely get a lot of car for the money and they should last a long time with the right care. Go for it!
