Oil Leaks, please help me identify where they are coming from

I suspected I had some small oil leaks. I got some UV dye and a UV light to see what I could track down. The uv dye works a treat, I identified at least 2 places there seems to be some seepage but I lack the knowledge to specifically name which parts they are coming from.

First and less severe there is a small leak coming from behind, whatever this thing is, what is this thing?


Upon closer inspection it is clear to me that this picture does not depict my actual engine, the 2.3t, nevertheless this is the closing thing I could fine that looked like the part I am trying to identify. Most pictures have it obscured.

Probably a little saturation through the valve cover too, but that is easy enough.

The second and slightly more severe leak was coming from a rectangular hole on the side of the engine just a little bit behind the part I have circled in the picture above. Its maybe 2 inches wide and sits right above what I believe is a coolant line that leads back to the firewall. From there it seems to leak down and pool up a little bit on the bell housing. I tried to get a picture, but it is awfully tight in there and its dark by the time I get home now, an uv light doesn't show up too great on the phone camera?

So does anybody know what the culprit might be here?

I will be able to get actual pictures, if needed, once I can actually get outside in the daylight.

Here is a closeup of the second leak, in the location shown by the arrow above, as you can see its a small rectangular hole a bit below the valve cover, probably not even 2 inches wide

That hole is a vent hole form the spark plug area.
So it's the valve cover gasket that is leaking.
Ebay.
That monkey fudger is only on automatic cars. It does something.
You will see when you pull the valve cover off that it is probably the valve cover gasket leaking there too.
NOTE:
Under the monkey fudger ware it goes into the block there is no gasket! You need to use that special gasket making stuff for SAABs. Just undo the 2 bolts and lift up the monkey fudger clean underneath and apply gasket stuff while you are doing the other gasket.

Here is a picture of the inside of mine when I took off the cover this summer. I am not sure what the monkey fudger is for but I didn't have any leaks on mine. I tried to find it in the WIS and EPC but that monkey fudger is hard to find! The new gasket can be a bit tricky to install as it doesn't really stay put when you turn the cover to install on the head.

Finally found it.. The monkey fudger is also known as the Brake Vacuum Pump. From the WIS:

Vacuum pump

To increase the braking effect on Saab 9-5 2.0 and 2.3 with automatic transmission, these cars have been equipped with an additional vacuum pump. The pump provides the brake servo with negative pressure when the engine is unable to supply this fully.

The pump is ring type, mounted on the cylinder head and driven by the camshaft. Since it is connected to the camshaft, the speed of the pump is half that of the engine, and negative pressure is produced continually for the brake system.
