No sounds - turn signals and warning chimes

As the title states, I have no audible warnings for anything:

    1. Turn signals don't "click" while engaged
    2. No seat belt chime
    3. No door open chime
    4. Probably doesn't chime when SID displays an error, but that hasn't come up yet.

The car is a 2006 and it has the factory 6 CD changer in the dash. I don't know if it's ever been removed. Fasten belts overhead light doesn't function either - don't know if it's related to this at all.

I've searched this forum and Googled the problem as well and the best I could find was a faulty speaker in the SID, but that was for MY99-05. Since 06+ has the SID in the gauge cluster, there's no speaker I can think of. The head unit plays music just fine.

I don't care much about the loss of warning sounds, but the absence of turning signal sounds is actually driving me nuts as I have to do a double-take every time I signal to make sure I'm actually doing it!

    Any thoughts?

I'm not sure how you figured out that the speaker requested is not incorporated in the SID ECU, regarding MY 2006+ - as it really is. The SID Saab P/N MY2006 is 12767386, and MY 2007 - 2010 12772937.

Hmm, I read somewhere that the warning chimes are generated through the stereo system. I guess I misunderstood. Why are there 2 different P/Ns? Are they interchangeable? Does the SID control box need to be divorced/married via Tech 2?

I'm going to pull the dash to see if I can repair/replace the speaker only before swapping out the unit.

9-3 MY03-06 warning chimes through the radio, MY07 - by a separate speaker in the Main Instrument Unit (MIU).

I'm not sure why 9-5 MY06 has its own SID ECU P/N - could be due to the facelift. The SID doesn't require to be divorced/married, however may it need spare part - (aftermarket -) programming with Tech2 to have functionality in accordance with market in question.

I'm confused. Why did you mention the 9-3? Was that a typo?

I know that the 9-3 went through a confusing facelift (interior in one year, then exterior the next), but I don't seen any differences in the 9-5 between MY06 and MY07+.

No typo - clarification with regard to where speakers are separated from the SID ECU:

Does your Radio work? If not - the AMP is dead. Otherwise all these other sounds are commanded from the CIM - sadly it's a costly repair for such a silly issue.

Yeah, the radio works. The CIM is the module behind the dash cluster we've mentioned previously, correct?

The CIM is the module behind the steering wheel which your wiper and cruise stalks plug into. It's the main gateway module to the car.

Did you end up fixing this? I have the same issue.

as you probably already know. CIM is for 9-3s only. 9-5 doesnt have that.
