    blown head gasket

help my daughter blew a head gasket, I took the head to a machine shop to see if it could be shaved. the never called me back on the head. I called the machine shop yesterday and they said it is ready and has been ready but I will need a head shim. I don't know what to do.

This post doesn't belong here, post it under the specific car forum please. But as far as a shim, I think he means the valve shims.

The machinist ground the deck and you need a head gasket shim to make up for the distance lost between the head and block.

Call Felpro direct and see if they can do something.

Check with the garage to verify the thickness of the shim they need. It's a little strange they did part of the job but can't put the engine back together.
