1999 saabe 9-5 V-belt breaks, now my power assisted brakes are also not working?
Hello,
I recently had my Serpentine belt break on my 1999 Saab 9-5 4-cyl, as well as the water pump, but when I drove it into my garage to fix, the brakes were super hard, i.e. the power assist was not working. Since this happened when the v-belt broke, are they connected at all? I did replace the v-belt and water pump but the brakes still are not working. Any ideas? I feel the two are connected because they happened at the same time. Does the power assist braking system tie into the v-belt at all?
thanks!

Usually when the belt goes so does the tensioner. Replace that and see if it fixes it. Also check to see if you have the belt routed properly.
