Hello! I'm replacing a head gasket and used a wire and a scotchbrite for cleaning the cylinder head and the block surface. Unfortunately I was not aware that scotchbrite leaves aluminium oxide residual that's destroying engine bearings. I've covered the pistons but the coolant and oil passages were open while cleaning, so the scotchbrite residual fell inside. Will it now help to flush the engine with a cheap oil and then change into a regular one immediately? As for the cylinder head, will it help if I wash with hot water and soap? Thanks!

That's my block at the moment. As you can see, it is still not clean. An old plastic card doesn't remove the gasket and I don't want to use scotchbrite anymore. Maybe a wire? It also falls in the passages but at least I can take it out with a magnet.
