Blowing Semi-Cold...
Hey Fellas,
My a/c is blowing semi-cold in this 99 degree Charlotte, NC weather. My car was sitting in the hot sun for 7 hours at my job parking lot, with my sunshade of course, but it actually took 42 minutes to get semi-cold. What's up, where do I start to fix this?
Please help. Thank you.

Your A/C system is probably low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged. As it is a closed system, there is probably a leak somewhere. A repair shop can add a dye to the refrigerant so it will be easier to find the leak.
I had the same problem with my previous 2004 9-5. After recharging, it worked ok for a few months but then lost its coolant capacity again.

Same problem with my '04 Arc. Just not cooling well in this blazing hot Alabama summer. I had two problems. My indy determined that the A/C compressor was nearly shot, so he replaced it. Cooling improved but was still about 10 degrees warmer than it should be at the vents. He determined that the air recirculation flap was not moving between fresh and cabin air. It's a common problem on the 9-5s. He did not fix the flap problem as I needed the car and he needed the bay in his shop. I'm tackling the flap problem. It was clearly broken but I have not yet repaired/replaced it. I'm confident when I do have it repaired/replaced that my A/C will be back to ice cold. See my post about the air circulation flap motor for details.

Thank you. I checked the PSI level, and needed to add some refrigerant today, but not much only 1/4 of a can. Cold again.
