    2001 9-5 SE Wagon

    Hello from Dayton, Ohio

Hi, I just bought a 2001 9-5 SE Wagon a couple weeks ago for fun. I gave myself a low budget and a goal to see how much car I could buy. For $1500 I got this:

It needed a LOT of work to get it to baseline:

Sump drop and clean (95% clogged)
    Vacuum Lines
    DIC
    Sparkplugs
Turbo Wastegate reconnected (checked bearings...a little noisy...will watch it).
    Subwoofer refoam
    Hatch Lift Shocks
    LED interior lighting
    Corrected taillights (wrong style, wattage)

Still to do or parts on order:
PCV #6 (it has an upgrade, just not #6)
    Exhaust Kit
    Brakes and Rotors
    Shark Antenna cover

0-60 used to be 20+ seconds. It was sad.
I don't calculate it now, but it's very quick. I actually can't control it well if I really push it.

Things went downhill after I posted this. The turbo got worse and started smoking pretty bad. Then I had a serious injury: shattered heel, required surgery. I didn't drive it for two months.

I bought a replacement turbo that was supposedly rebuilt with a Garrett CHRA ( I had my doubts, but...). I had it replaced and within 5 MILES the turbo cratered. Keep in mind that my foot still hurts pretty bad so I can't drive like a maniac for a couple more months. When I contacted the seller, he admitted to using a Chinese CHRA but claimed to have had it installed and balanced/tested professionally. I think we both learned a lesson. I will never, ever buy anything engine related on eBay. My original housing was OK and is getting rebuilt properly. I will recoup my money from the eBay seller so it works out in the end minus expenses for a rental car and shop labor.
