What engine do I have?
I have a 2005 Saab 9-5 Arc sedan. The emblem above the right taillight is "2.3T."
I would like to replace the spark plugs, but I first need to know what engine it has.
I did some searching, and it would appear it is either the B235E or B235L engine.
The VIN is YS3ED49AXXXXXXXXX. The eighth character indicates the engine variant ("A" in my case).
This Saab Central post doesn't list an engine for "A".
When I entered the VIN into this VIN decoder it says I have a B206I engine (??).
When I entered the VIN into this VIN decoder it says I have a B235L engine.
So do I have a B235L engine?

Thanks Wulf.
Well if it is a B235L engine, then it takes NGK BCPR 6H-11 spark plugs.
But according to your post back in 2011,
The BCPR6ES is the new standard spark plug for the B235L engine... From what I remember, the BCPR 6H-11 is not manufactured anymore.

Yes, those should be the right plugs for the B235L.
