2005 9-5 Engine Vibration and Noise
Hello and Happy NY
I have got a 9-5 Linear Wagon 2005.
We have reached 100K a few weeks ago and the car has started some weird vibration under acceleration and deaccleration as well.
When the engine is cold it vibrates and shakes the gear liver and the engine gets louder too.
Until I reach 70mph it keeps vibrating and somewhat stops after 70mph. And the same happens as I try to slow down, the car vibrates again.
Before moving to Ann Arbor, MI I changed oil, plugs and did whole service to the car. I didn't change the transmission oil though.
So, dear fellow Saab owners do you have any idea what could cause this vibration and engine noises?
Here are some guesses;
1) The turbo is about to die
2) The engine
3) The transmission (due to not changing oil)
4) Drivetrain (clutch, differential, shaft etc)
Have you had those issues and if you have what was it?
And if some you are from Michigan by any chance, could you recommend me a service center?
Thank you in advance,
David

I have the same model, and an issue that sounds similar; posted elsewhere. Basically there is a lurch or a kick once in gear, or switching gears. It seems to grow weaker as the car warms up, and doesn't occur at highway speeds say bw 5th and 4th. It seems to happen more when there is acceleration, either from a stop or say coming off a curve, even staying in gear.
That said I'm getting the clutch assembly replaced this week, maybe I'll have more clues soon.

Thank for your replay.
It is exactly my problem.
I am taking the car to a service on Wed. next week. I'll post what is going on with my car.
The steering also started making some scary noises. I may have to replace the oil pump or something.
I am a bit scared about the bill I'll get after the service
Have you fixed your car so far? and how much did it cost?

The clutch alone, P&L, was $1750. Little shop in Pleasantville NY. The lurch issue though was chalked up to degraded (like, non-existentent) bushings that were about $150-$200. Threw in a new piece of suspension and wheel alignment. All in I dropped about $2250, which is in range of what I expected to drop in the first year of ownership. Said rest of car is in good shape so fingers crossed, my $6k car is now an $8k car

Oh man...
I don't even remember when I saw this amount of money last time.
So it seems your car has a manual gearbox not an automatic one right?
I may have to replace the engine mounts too.
God this car costs expansive.
