Visual Differences of 1987-1993 900
Hello everybody! I recently purchased a 1:18 scale of the restyled classic 900. What I'm wondering is if there are any visual cues that would help determine the model year for the 1987 to 1993 design? I'd like to know if there is a specific year this scale model was based off of. Thanks!

I am leaning towards the 1989. In the U.S., the 1990 and later did not have the hole in the rear glass with the plug. I don't know about 1987 and 1988.
I would also investigate the exhaust. I had a 900 (non-turbo) that had a single exhaust pipe. Some turbos had an oval exhaust.
Look at the speedometer of the model. Km or miles and km? Or not enough detail in the model?

Thanks Dave. It's really hard to tell with the naked eye since it doesn't have opening doors but the instrument panel is pretty detailed, albeit small. While it wasn't clear enough to read the actual numbers, I was able to conclude that it was in km based on where it hits 100. I should have mentioned initially that it's a new product from a company in France and the bar codes tag on the box names it as Aero so definitely European.
Did some digging around, looking at a bunch of photos of each model year to check out the exhaust. It may have just been the ones I saw, but the only stock duel exhaust I found were on 88's or 89's... couldn't find any 87's.
As for the rear wiper plug, there was a thread on another forum about this where somebody narrowed that down to 88 and 89 as well.
I'd say your assumption of it being an '89 is pretty fair so that's what I will go with. Thanks!
