Pothole killed my coil spring, recommendations?
Hit a nice pothole last week, and jacked up the car and found this
Priced a new OEM set of springs, but are the OEM ones of good quality or is there a better aftermarket coil?. I was also thinking of replacing the bearing and maybe the top plates? Am I missing anything else? Does the rubber sleeve that sits on the spring at the bottom come with the new one?

Price out Lesjofors brand too. I bought thest when the springs in our 2006 car failed in January 2012 and warranty replacements were not available due to the recent bankruptcy. There are internet claims that Lesjofors is the OEM suppplier to Saab. I bought the springs from Parts For Saabs out of the UK and they arrived via mail to our home in Michigan within a week.

I would replace everything, spring seats, strut mounts, bumpstops, and even the struts due to age of your car. Unless of course some of these are much newer.
