Can Anyone Help ID This Part? ('02 9-5 Linear)
I'm looking for a part number or any info that can lead to us replacing this. It looks like a small blue tank. I took this picture from behind the right passenger side wheel.
We went to a local shop and ran a smoke test and it looked like the smoke was coming out of this thing.
The code were trying to fix is a "P1181" and inspection's due this month so we've got to get the job done.
Thanks in advance.

It shows this information about P1181 in the Saab WIS: Saab_9-5_P1181_Air_Fuel_Too_Lean.pdf
Looking through the EPC, I found this image and part description that may point to the mystery part. It looks like it is part of the filler tube.
That part number 5193024 doesn't give a lot of results in a search but found this used part: http://www.goldwingsaabparts.com/product_p/5193024.htm
It was replaced by a newer part number 5462270 https://www.esaabparts.com/saab/parts/5462270
Not sure what this all means but perhaps it points in the right direction in finding the problem.

Awesome. That gets me on the right track. I'll begin the hunt.
Originally, I was hoping someone who knew what it was and could just give me a name, but you did research and went above and beyond. A part number will be very helpful. Thank you.

It is the canister close valve. It is part of the evaporative emissions control system. It's not likely to be your problem causing P1181. Make sure you do not have any vacuum leaks. Especially check for a broken plastic vacuum line to the PCV or brake booster.
