08 95 Aero Oil leak, top of engine, questions

    Hello All,
Cars been running great, I've been slowly fixing things the previous owner neglected, and turned over 100k recently. Currently sitting at 103k, changed the oil about 1k ago, and started noticing a small dot of oil leakage on my garage floor. Jacking up the car, I assumed the oil filter/drain plug was loose. Neither are. I can trace the oil up the side of the block to somewhere below the thermostat housing area, but I could be wrong. Now my car is an 08. Most of the info I found as far as PCV replacements and block tightening do not apply AFAIK to my year, but I could be wrong. Any ideas where I can look? It only seems to leak when driving. I worked from home most of last week and drove my gf car and there was no new drips. I'm planning on cleaning off the engine next weekend and seeing if I can get a better idea of the leak, but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

Start with checking around the bottom of the valve cover. The gasket may detoriate over time and is easy to replace.

Edit: just re-read your post and it comes from below the thermostat housing so most likely not the valve cover gasket.

I believe it does, it looks like it's from the bottom area of the head, but I haven't had a chance to clean it off yet. I was also thinking the valve cover gasket, at least that was my hope.
