When to rebuild engine?

Good Morning SW,

My 04' Aero is at 226k.
When is the suggested mileage to rebuild?
Unfortunately, I don't have the service history for the vehicle.
I've read 250k, but I've heard they can go up to 350, 400k before letting go.

as complicated cars like Saabs you can having full of issues with that car, if you have changed others parts like complete suspensions (included bushings) for keeping that car at full it could be interesting to rebuild your engine but this is expensive if you don't doing the work yourself (changing the pistons plus all the timing chains (2) the balancing wheel, belt,maybe for security the water pump ) and plenty of others small things, changing all the fluids for having fresh(motor oil, trans oil ,steering oil . cost maybe 2500-3000$ (don't know the price in the US )
if you want to keep your car you have those solutions
1) found an engine with history and swap them, 6-8 hours of work for an experienced mech.
2) rebuild your engine like I've said above take 6-8 hours plus the parts prices.
3)buy another Saab with good history and keep the old for parts.
